ISO27001 Certification

The International Standards Organisation (ISO) is the world's largest developer and creator of standards that detail universal requirements for products, processes, services, systems, and materials. ISO27001 is the latest international standard developed exclusively for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), requiring firms to employ a methodical approach to managing sensitive information and ensuring data security. Currently, there are approximately 6,000 organisations worldwide subscribing to the standard.

In a process that on average, takes 18 to 24 months from outset to certification, Your Conveyancer established a team of core employees to manage the project and achieved our ISO27001 registration within 6 months, involving a staff-wide initiative to ensure the highest standards of information security are developed and maintained throughout.

Following on from what has been a very difficult time for all legal firms and financial institutions, there is now a decided move towards adopting the frameworks set out in the ISO standards and towards working with like minded ISO registered firms.

Our new ISO27001 certification sits alongside our mature ISO9001 and ISO20000 registrations for Quality Management and IT Service Management respectively and exemplifies our commitment to quality and security throughout the organisation. We can now demonstrate independent assurance of our internal controls, meeting corporate governance and business continuity requirements, whilst also demonstrating the observation of all applicable laws and regulations.

ISO27001 certification demonstrates to our customers, competitors, suppliers and staff that we use industry-respected best practices - ultimately ISO27001 is a management standard and we are proud that our company has attained the very highest standards required to achieve registration. Your Conveyancer clients can now feel more confident than ever that their information is being protected.

The most important lesson learned is that without perhaps realising it over the last couple of years we have gradually changed the way we work so that our product is now second to none. The large numbers of positive customer service surveys as well as very positive feedback from introducers is proof of that.

We believe that we are the only legal practice in Scotland to have achieved all three of these ISO standards, giving us a distinct advantage over our competitors and placing us in an ideal position to secure more quality work in the near future.
